The Practitioner & The Process

Scott K Smith is a multidisciplinary Artist, Healer, Witch, and Writer. An ordained High Priest and Aries Lead Minister in the Temple of Witchcraft and the Universal Life Church. He draws on three decades of experience as a recognized healer and guide. Scott empowers individuals on their spiritual and creative journeys, helping them cultivate discipline, dedication, and a deep connection to their personal power.

Creative Statement: My work integrates the esoteric and magickal arts drawn from my studies in mystery traditions. I create with the intention of aiding, inspiring, and encouraging. Rejecting strict convention, I allow the organic process—the line, the cross, and the curve of every brushstroke, ritual, class, or experience—to guide what is created. Working across traditional and digital media and traditions, I actively incorporate the conversation among art, the client, and the sacred as vital elements of the creative journey.

Art, Design & Visual Magick

Primarily a self-taught artist with a foundation in traditional methods and design from Silicon Valley College (1995),non-credentialed traditional art instruction, evolving into digital, mixed-media, and ritualistic art.

• Temple of Witchcraft (2022–Present): Creator of artwork for TempleHearth, Aries Ministry Protection work, and esoteric sigils for both online and print mediums.
• Spirit Portrait Projects (1994–Present): A visual conversation with Spirit, people, and place. These intuitive, artistic readings offer a visual representation of a person’s path, offered privately and at shops like The Green Man Store, Mostly Angels LA, The PATH, Queer Care LA, Gender Justice LA, The Crystal Matrix, and Open Eye Crystals.
• Independent Commissions & Design (1999–2016): Extensive freelance portfolio including branding and page layout for political organizations (Young Stonewall Democrats, Howard Dean Campaign), the American Red Cross Blood Services, and Downtown Properties LLC (LA Magazine, Real Estate fliers, in-house blog).
• Exhibitions & Installations:
  • Sister of Perpetual Indulgence LA, Queer Artwalk (2009): Exhibited a nine-piece white-on-white canvas installation—incorporating body casts from four men—exploring the myth of Osiris Resurrected and the search for wholeness.
  • Malibu Barbie Beach Party Benefit (2009): Sculpted a large-scale, organic mixed-media auction piece (papier-mâché, vines, peacock feathers, newsprint, cotton) for an AIDS charity.
  • “A Hidden Place” DTLA Artwalk (2008): Displayed a mixed-media collage series inspired by Björk’s Vespertine, utilizing street debris to explore hidden urban and spiritual elements.
  • Green Man Store Benefit (2007): Provided art for the Children of the Night Foundation benefit.
  • Early Exhibitions: Astral HopeChest Co-founder & Resident Artist (1994-1998), Borders Books & Music Westwood (1998), First Cup Cafe South Lake Tahoe (1998-1999).
